Language has four main aspects: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The varied experiences in working with materials that prepare the child’s eyes and hands for reading and writing. The Montessori Method for teaching reading is phonetic as well as tactical. Sand paper letters and a movable alphabet are two materials that provide the child with concrete language experiences. Dr. Montessori designed these materials over a hundred years ago, and children today still find them fascinating. |
